This should be the last post from the Blogger version of Free Hogg. The new blog is at http://freehogg.wordpress.com. I hope that everyone has a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving.
I'm pretty new to blogging and when I decided to start, I jumped on the Blogger bandwagon since it's pretty popular. Well, unbeknownst to me, Blogger sucks. Since WordPress is free now (and I'll only use a free blog service until I'm no longer a poor college student), I'm packing up my stuff and heading on over. I don't know how many regular readers I have, but I'm sorry for any inconvenience. Give me a little bit to get it up and running and I'll see you there.
The OpenCD 3.1 has been released. This is an excellent resource for free, open source software, especially for people who are new to open source software and want to find some really great apps. It includes programs like Firefox, OpenOffice.org, the GIMP, and a personal favorite of mine Notepad2.

The latest and greatest thing to happen to online news is diggdot.us. It's a site that combines the powers of Digg, Slashdot, and del.icio.us/popular into one site. They just got their rss feed up yesterday, so get over there and subscribe.
Get the latest update to Mozilla Firefox 1.5. The word on the street is that we're just 11 days away from the final release.
Can someone help me out? I looked at the new Google Base, and was left scratching my head. What exactly is the purpose and/or point of this new service? Maybe one of you has better insight than I do.
In my opinion Google want to have the biggest database of people's files on the world. Google is competiting with other search engines like Yahoo, which have very big database of webpages.
Google Analytics so far in my experience (besides it telling me that I didn't put the code in my page) is pretty sweet. I haven't checked out all of the features and I don't really plan to since I'm mainly just using it as a hit counting service (which isn't really its main purpose). I don't need all of those bells and whistles, but they're still cool. I have been using Site Meter, and it's got a lot of the same services (world map, referring sites, daily hits/views, etc.) but Google just does it much better.
Google has come out with a free service called Analytics, as I'm sure many of you already know. Well, if you have trouble with it, you're not alone. I've been trying for the past several minutes to get this thing to work, all to no avail. For some reason, it won't recognize that I have added its script to my page, even though when I view the source, I can clearly see it there. Oh well, maybe they'll fix it, maybe not.
I have a feeling it's going to take longer than a few minutes to start working...
GA sucks a lot it has taken me 36 hours before it run properly. Stat Counter is way much better anyway.GA doesn't provide much details in my opinion
Right as I am typing this, Kansas City is having the first snow of the year! Too bad it's too warm for it to stick. I guess I'll have to wait to go sledding.
I want to wish all veterans a happy Veteran's Day and let everyone know that I support our troops and our country.
let's not forget about the boys who died in the trenches in that bloody awful war that ended on this date so long ago
Let's not indeed.

At the recommendation of Jeff, I'm going to ditch my SuSE Linux and try out Ubuntu Linux. I'm hoping that it is a little bit more user friendly as far as adding and removing software since I'm only a quasi-geek and don't always enjoy doing things the hard way. I'll let you know what I think about it in the near future.
